Once upon a time the whole island Öland was covered by woodlands.
Now few parts of the woodlands are left. One of the older parts of forests that is left is called the Troll-forest. It’s a nature reserve and consists of both pine trees,  deciduous forest with oaks, meadows and parts with bushes, bracken and fern.

…And quite amazing to walk in. I have never been in a forests with more different types of plants and trees as here.

Martin disappears

-Counting Swedish forests that is.

Oaks, some over 100 years old.

Ancient remains, a tumulus.

We walked through a meadow close to the shore, where the grass was so soft we could go barefoot.

And continued into to forest again for to see the northernmost cape and the windswept pine trees.

A scattered stonewall. The only remains from the time when the forest was used as the  king’s hunting area.

Martin is there somewhere.

But… whats behind the trees?

…to be continued.
